Born in Nice, France, in 1975, Philippe Nigro is currently based in Milan and works between France and Italy.
Working as a freelance designer since 1999, he has collaborated with Studio De Lucchi in Milan. From 2005 onwards, he has received support from VIA (Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement) for innovative furniture projects, which led to the development of pieces such as the Spiral shelf, Storage-Unit modular boxes, and the Intersections sofas. Prototypes like the Twin-Chairs double seat and the Universal Base table base, both created with VIA’s backing, have been included in the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou.
In 2009, the Intersections project marked the beginning of a partnership with Ligne Roset, who produced and expanded the line under the name Confluences. This range received the German Red Dot Best of the Best award in 2009 and won the Young & Design competition the same year.
