Marco Acerbis

Marco Acerbis was born in 1973 and graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1998. From 1997 to 2004, he lived in London, where he worked at Lord Norman Foster’s studio. During this time, he collaborated on the construction of an eight-story Medical Research Building at Imperial College’s campus in London.

He later took on the role of Project Architect for the Capital City Academy, a 250-meter-long high school building for 1,400 students, inaugurated by Tony Blair.

In 2004, he founded his own architecture studio in Italy. Fascinated by design at different scales, he soon began exploring a wide range of themes, continuously combining skills, ideas, tools, and technologies to create comprehensively designed spaces.

His Vertigo floor lamp, designed for Fontana Arte in 2004, was immediately recognized as a bestseller and contemporary design icon, and is now part of the permanent collection of the Vitra Design Museum.

The Prius door handle, designed for Colombo Design, received a Special Mention at the XXI Compasso d’Oro ADI.

The Kloe armchair, created for Desalto, was awarded the Red Dot Design Award in 2009.

The Wave faucet collection, designed for IB Rubinetterie, received both the Red Dot Design Award in 2015 and the Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum in 2013.

His interest in contemporary issues has led him to engage directly with sustainable architecture, through the design and construction management of Polins, a building certified with CasaClima Class A+, the highest sustainability standard.
