The idea behind Panarea is rooted in the Mediterranean coastline, and in the colours and refreshing breeze of an outdoor dinner on a sea-facing terrace. “CMP” is the acronym of Cazzaniga, Mandelli, and Pagliarulo, the three founders and friends who established the studio in 2009. All three come from an academic environment at the Polytechnic University of Milan, which proved extremely fertile in ideas thanks to the fortunate coincidence of a human environment rich in positive and creative relationships.
A characteristic feature of all CMP’s works could be identified in the realization of visual connections between objects of the past, objects of popular culture, and natural elements. The latter constitute the basic “”materials”” of every design, which are then intuitively combined and simplified through the dialogue of the three founders to produce simple and timeless concepts.
