Born in Istanbul in 1962, Tanju Özelgin is a pioneer in Turkish industrial design. After graduating in 1984 from Marmara University’s Department of Industrial Product Design, he founded Scala Design in 1987. His creative journey includes co-founding IN Furniture (1993–1995) and later launching Parlak Kirmizi in 1996 with Ertan Binme. Since 2005, Özelgin has been leading the design studio TO (Tanju Özelgin), developing both industrial products and interior projects. Known for his refined aesthetic and architectural approach, he bridges art and function through expressive, minimalist forms. At B&T Design, his work reflects deep material knowledge and strong conceptual vision, making him a key figure in shaping contemporary design in Turkey.
